Bad weather across the country has forced many minor league teams to squeeze in a lot of games in a little amount of time. The Rangers farm teams have not been excluded from the mess. There was a ton of action to keep up with on Thursday night.
Omaha 9, Round Rock Express 0
The Express logged seven hits in this one, but couldn’t capitalize as they left nine runners on base. The pitchers struggled as well (obviously) with the big downfall being walks. The staff combined to walk seven Storm Chasers and all four pitchers gave up at least one run.
Arkansas 4, Frisco RoughRiders 0 (Game 1)
Three Riders pitchers appeared in the seven inning game. Brett Martin was the only one of them to log a strikeout and even he posted just one. Arkansas only notched two hits in the game, but managed four runs.
Frisco RoughRiders 6, Arkansas 0 (Game 2)
Jonathan Hernandez was the highlight of game two. The righty shut out the Travelers over his six innings of work. Two Riders had three hits a piece in the seven inning game.
Down East Wood Ducks 4, Buies Creek 3 (Game 1 – Continuation from Wednesday’s Suspended Game)
We picked this one up in the top of the seventh with a 3-3 tie. The winning run scored when Anderson Tejeda grounded into a double play that drove in Leody Tavares in the bottom of the seventh.
Buies Creek 5, Down East Wood Ducks 0 (Game 2)
Buies Creek jumped out early and the Wood Ducks couldn’t muster any offense in this one as they produced just four hits, none of which went for extra bases.
Hickory Crawdads 4, Kannapolis 2 (Game 1)
The Crawdads have been hot as of late and added two more wins today. The first one came behind a strong start from A.J. Alexy.
Hickory Crawdads 1, Kannapolis 0 (Game 2)
Righty Alex Eubanks tried to one up Alexy when he took the ball for game two en route to a 1-0 Crawdads win.
Alex Eubanks: 6 IP, 0 ER, 6 K, 0 BB
Justin Jacobs: 1/2, 2B, RBI
