Scott Heineman: One sweet slip & slide dive across the tarp.
Northwest Arkansas 6, Frisco RoughRiders 2
Yohander Mendez got the start today and was performing well until a rocky fifth inning. The lefty is still working to make his way back to the big leagues after a demotion for violating team rules. The Riders two lone runs both came on solo homers.
Lynchburg 3, Down East Wood Ducks 2
The Wood Ducks jumped out to an early two run lead in the first inning, but the bats went silent from there. Starter Steven Bruce gave a solid 5.1 before the bullpen didn’t allow a hit for the rest of the game.
Hickory Crawdads 2, Lakewood 1
It was the Hans Crouse show tonight as the Rangers top pitching prospect made his Single-A debut with the Crawdads. He didn’t put up his typical strikeout numbers, but Lakewood could only muster three hits off of the fireballing righty.
