It was a complete game for Down East as the Rangers top prospect had a huge day, they got contributions all through the lineup, and got a great outing from their starter. Walker Weickel made his Double-A debut in Frisco and Round Rock ends Nashville’s win streak.
Round Rock Express 3, Nashville 1
Round Rock needed this one as the club entered play tonight with a 2-12 mark in August. Starter Chris Rowley allowed eight hits, but avoided any real damage as he allowed just one run. Five members of the Express had multi-hit games.
Arkansas 6, Frisco RoughRiders 1
Frisco falls to 1-7 over their last eight games. Right hander Walker Weickel made his Double-A debut tonight and allowed four runs over his five innings. The defense made two errors behind him in a rough first and he gave up a couple of soft hits as well. Juremi Profar hit a MONSTER homer in this one.

Down East Wood Ducks 6, Carolina 2
Rangers top prospect Leody Taveras led the charge for the Wood Ducks in this one as he homered and tripled in a three hit day. Taveras was one of four Wood Ducks with a multi-hit game. Emerson Martinez had a great start as he struck out eight over six innings. Down East will look for the series sweep tomorrow evening. They have outscored the Mudcats 14-2 in the first two games.
Hickory Crawdads 6, Asheville 3
Speaking of top prospects, Bubba Thompson had a big day at the plate in his own right. The Dads took a 4-3 lead into the ninth before they added two more insurance runs in the final frame. Demarcus Evans came in to close this one out with two hitless innings and two strikeouts en route to his eighth save of the season.
